172's are about 166-169bhp typically, mine with only cams was 195 looking at it's old results. Imo it's about right.

Was that on the same rollers?? My 172 was 171 as std. Then 192.6 at the end of the day. Non cam'd!

Mine was Silly silly fast!!! - To put it into perspective i could catch any 172/182 and last wk in the vee i could barely keep up with it till silly speeds!

Now i've had them fitted mapped etc, it did only give a gain of 16, however i don't know the gain in the mid range, which, from what i understand, that's the 20-25bhp figure

Cams are pretty generic if you're running OE management so it's all in the mapping. I'd use Paul@RSTuning to map them.

Was it superchipped by taking care of the cams or is it off-the-shelf one?

One word mate, AWESOME! Mods i've got are:

Cat cams
AWT inlet
182 manifold (ceramic coated race spec)
BMC filter
Decat
Exhaust
Superchip
Completely stripped (roof lining the lot!)

Produced 204bhp at the flywheel.

With the new cams fitted, driving around town locally is much more easy than it was before due to the increased low down torque and smoothness of the engine, when you step on the loud pedal though, all hell breaks loose! 2nd gear is an animal and the power is delivered smoothly and not in one big burst, well until you get to about 6k and you really start moving, 3rd gear has improved a lot as well, also thanks to the increased torque!

To get an idea of how quick it is, i had a quick blast with my mates R33 GTS T skyline last night, it's running approx 320hp, and we were side by side at the end of third gear from a standing start (private road of course!)

All in all i'm very impressed and worth it in my opinion, then again my car is a dedicatd track car where i'll benefit from the power coming in higher in the revs.

I'll get some 0-100 vids as soon as i can

hmm... something strange about that, as mine was also RR'd on Dastek rollers as that's what it says at the top of my Ric Wood dyno sheet... only I made 240bhp and 193lbs... but realistically mine is only around 225bhp or so, so I'm guessing yours is similarly inaccurate making it 7-10bhp less at least... or mine really is 240bhp?

Dastek don't produce an ATW figure. Only Torque and BHP, i've only got an old graph on my photobuckt, before it had been remapped, shows 186.2 and 153. But after the remap from paul it was higher.

To be fair, RR's are a gimmic, Mine was Very fast on the road, thats enough proof for me!

Its not that they are a gimic, or even innacurate...the simple fact is that human intervention cannot be standardised, and so you get variation in important factors, such as strapping force which can give vastly different readings, even between operators on the same dyno.

there is a shirck profile that works with OE managment, you will need to use a map to run them properally.
