ARP Rod Bolts - Who's cheapest

Need to pull my finger out and actually buy some of these.

Where's the best price?

Heard it was Danny@519.

Anyone know differently before I call him.

Only a small price I know but every little helps ;)

they've gone up in price £82 from me now :(

Crikey thats even more than Ktec currently, and normally they are the dearest for most things:

78 quid currently, but I suspect their prices will change soon too though to reflect the recent underlying increases.

I wonder why they say the following though:
These bolts are also essential on a turbocharged version of the same engine as the stresses on the standard bolts are greatly increased.

Simply not true at all!

The bolts are under the most strain at high rpm at the end of the exhaust stroke, a turbo or not doesnt change that really, and in fact if you got really fussy about it the turbo charged motor will actually strain the bolt less as there is more EBP.

At 82 quid posted then IMHO just buy from Fred. He is great to deal with and you are unlikely to save more than a tenner even if you do shop around so why bother?

Fred, any doing a little bit on the price for 2 sets, for Martin (V800) and I, they can both be posted to the same address if need be :)

if you knew the margin i make on them you'd understand me saying no LOL, it actually isn't worth me selling them at all!

I purely meant on the postage side of things, but I understand your angle on it Fred.
i shall liaise with Martin and I'm sure an order will be over to you within a few days ;)

cheers :)

I'd rather pay the extra £2 and have the money go in the pocket of a trader I trust.

Agreed.

Steve is another option but even his prices have gone up recently, was about 50 something quid tail end of last year but last set I had were 70ish even from him, and his lead times on stuff like that are pretty awful if its just one set as obviously he has no wish to stock clio bits, lol.

I didn't realise Steve could source parts like that aswell, but thinking logically I'd imagine he has contacts in every angle of motorsport and car tuning.
havent seen him for ages actually, last time was at Silverstone last year as we sat back munching ice ccram in the sun as Jacko tried to get out on track in the focus..... Failed :(

Yeah he does a lot of that sort of stuff, in fact for the vauxhalls he has had his own headstuds made instead of ARP as there were some minor improvements he wanted to make and ARP wouldnt change the design. He's the sort of person that doesnt mind spending 10K on 100 sets of bolts if he knows they will sell even if he is sat on them a while, but with the F4R stuff the market is just too small.

Certainly a knowledgable and handy guy to know.

Always has decent biscuits to go with the brew too, I used to make sure I was over his place at least once a week for a couple of years back when I wasnt doing martial arts in the evenings and had more free time.

I remember just after I bought the mountune roller barrels for the Escort, I had a chat with him one night in the fairmile pub and he went in depth about having the MIS inlets remade aswell, and tried talking me in to selling the mountune setup in favour of the MIS.
it was about then I started to realise what he could source and get made.

Those inlets were pretty epic, it was about that time I was seeing him a lot so I got shown through each step of the way, I forget where they were made now but it was somewhere proper random that I wouldnt have thought of like albania or something and he was meeting the guy with 20K cash a time to buy them after he flew over with them in his hand luggage or something like that, was like the plot of a drugs film but about inlet manifolds instead, lol.

free sump gasket too per set (well i'm £2 more than k-tec after all, but they aren't giving you £14's worth of sump gasket for free! ;))

Cheers for doing that for us Fred, and well done Martin looking after the purchase for us while I'm otherwise 'occupied' ;)
