I do an AS400 backup for work every Friday night, it's the biggest pig in the world to use! I'm no expert though! Sorry, and good luck with it, my advice would be to give it a kick, not to sort it out, but because it deserves a damn good kicking!

redirecting spooled files. for example, i have 100 files in the output queue of printer 1, and i want to redirect them and all futures prints to printer 2

I've got a few hundred AS400/iSeries boxes sat next door, but I dont have a clue how to use them, I only work on zSeries.

There's also some other freeware tool on here which can copy spooled files from one output queue to another
