Right just got some 6x9s in the back and i have a few questions,

1.firstly is a stanard mk1 parcel shelf fit to install them in or do i need a modified one?

2.im running these off the standard speaker wires should i be? or should i replace it with new wires?

as we all know my views on 6x9s, ill refrain from comenting there

standard shelf wil be far too weak to support them fully, you can modify the standard one with a 1/2" MDF baffle or you can get a fully MDF one, either way, the sound will hardly change

to power 6x9s, youd be better with a c4 charge, but standard speaker wire will be sufficient, its not exactly goign to damage the sound quality from the 6x9s

Will the quality of the parcel shelf affect the speakers sound i have a freind who thinks mounting is everything.

mounting decent speakers makes a big difference, the quality of the mount on 6x9s means sod all, they will still sound crap

you obviousley hate 6x9s then they sound good!!! XPLOD ones to not SPLX or summit.

So looks like some MDF on the bottom of my parcel shelf then.

6x9s dont sound good they are just a cheap easy way to get bass and not very good bass its relly just mid bass

as above, im not going to get into the whole argument as to why i have my views, but all i will ask is, if they are so good, how many SQ cars do you see with them fitted???

yes mdf would be the best bet, if only to stiffen up the shelf so as it does not sag under the weight of the 6x9s

What would you reccomend for a sound system then? my next pay cheque is destined for it so max £600 on it, want it to sound the bees knees

components up front and 6 inch subs in builds in the back

6 or 8 (maybe a 10) in the back and a decent set of components

well i have after market jobbies in the front anyway so just some subs in the boot and im sorted against your wishes tho ill keep the 6x9s

i wouldnt if you are goign to put a sub in there

they will play off each other, making both of them sound shyte and damaging both of them

but the choice is yours

i know what id do
