auto wipers?

  Inferno 182 w/ Recaros ;)
i know from the book, that in the (a) position, the wipers are fully off, and if you flick the stalk down one to (b) that they go into auto mode, but wasnt sure if you have to move it back into (a) and then to (b) again everytime you get into the car, as im sure it said something like that in the manual but couldnt make much sense of it.

Yep i think your right, every time to re set it, thats how it reads to me.

that's right. If you leave the stalk in the (b) position the wipers won't do a thing after you've turned the engine off until you move it from (b) to (a) and back to (b) again.

These things puzzle me. They aren't automatic because you always have to turn them off and on again each time plus they don't work as well as the old adjustable intermittent wipe.

Also that thing you twist that supposedly adjusts the sensitivity or something? It makes no sodding difference!

I think they should go down with the square steering wheel in the austin allegro as the most pointless automotive inventions ever.

I think I am one of the lucky ones who has auto lights that work. Can't fault them, they are spot on and would never want to go back to the old manual type.

dont get me wrong, i always used to forget manual ones- i just cant work out how the hell they go on sometimes more light conditions than others!

They are psychic or something. If you park under a bright streetlight at night they stay on but if you are stopped under a bridge in daytime and its dark in your car they can kind of see ahead and know not to come on!

It must be down to different types of light or something!

Me too. I don't have a problem with the auto lights, seem to do the job 99% of the time, the other one percent of the time I just switch them on manually.

The auto wipers on the other hand are sh*te, and that's being polite. I think they're downright dangerous, I still have no idea why renault let you switch off auto lights, but wont let the auto wipers revert back to intermittent mode.

Most of the time I have to keep turning the wipers on and off because they're so sh*te.

It's amazing how quick you get used to things, went out in the wife's car the other night and completley forgot about putting the lights on,just thought she had crap headlights.
One disadvantage on auto lights is that you can't flash people without the full beam staying on,but if you put it in normall mode you can.
