Autoglym

Ive got a black car and find it very difficult not to get fine scratches on the paint when I wax it. What sort of pad should I use?

The main problem is when I brush off the light dust that my car attracts - thats what seems to scratch it the most.

If you ring Black Bear Harley on newmarket 01638 664455, they do mail order. They stock just about all s100 stuff. Their wheel cleaner is supposed to be just about the best out there.

The thing with s100 is it is the same as p21s but a lot cheaper. P21s is marketed at car owners, and s100 at bike owners, but its the same stuff.

Get some S100 SEC @ £9.26 and some S100 Paste Wax @ £15.46. When I asked them about mail order they said for 1 of each of SEC and Wax would cost about £3-4 for p+p.

In the end I drove dpwn there and bought 3 x SEC and 5 x Wax. Saved myself £10 p+p for all that, and they slung me 10% bulk-buy discount.

benH,

If you buy a quick detailer, like Meguiars QuikDetailer, you can use this to remove dust. You spray it on fairly liberally and wipe gently with a clean MF towel. Because the QD is so slippery, it doesn;t damage the paint.

Black shows up all the imperfections in paintwork. You probably have no more swirls than anyone elsebut they just show up more on a black car. The best way to hide swirls is to buy a silver car :)
