Just been contacted by them, apparently three people interested in Meggy.

They want £69.99 to sell the car for me, then I get £60 refund once its sold.

Is it a scam?

more than likely. heard about an internet scam too - people email you saying they are buying a car for a person overseas or something, v dodgy. they get your email off autotrader advert etc. recently sold my car, had the same kind of contact from these dodgers - dont fall for it!

i really really hate these people who call you up saying for just £100 we will sell your car, and the thing is they get really agressive when you say no!

best thing is to say "oooh yes what a good idea, ill just go and get my credit card" and then just leave them hanging on the phone....see how long theyl wait lol

Cardata services are another. They get your details off Autotrader.

The dumbasses sent me a package before ringing though so I knew about the scam before then taking the piss.

Got to know them quite well. You can generally recognise the number, although they use several in order to get round you blocking them.

eheh they phoned me up afew months ago when i was selling the 16v (which i still ant sold!) anyway they came out with all the usuall crap and told me i could get the £60 back, it turns out that you can only clam thye £60 back IF they take out finance with them to buy the car, if you get paid in cash etc u cant clam anything back..

i also told them that if they sent people to look at the car and they bought it and confirmed that they had come thru them i would send then the fee(which i would), but they did not seem to keen on this idea

its rubbish, I paid £30 for a similar thing years ago, they gave me a voucher when they did not sell it to go back to them in future.
