Automatic Lights

Can I trust the automatic lights?

I was flashing my lights at my girl friend the other day when parked and instead of flashing in the normal fashion. I switched the lights on and of a couple of times. (she was looking for the car and i needed to flash the rear lights as she was behind me)

Anyway I heard a beep and though hmm I wonder what that was. Anyway I have discovered that I have switched on the auomatic lights (that i didn't know I had)

My real question is can i trust them to stay on when it is dark?

Does anyone else use this feature?

never had a problem with them and if they do go off all you have to do is turn them back on manually.

mine are really sensitive and come on too early, usually end up turning them to sidelights only when this happens.

They are reliable but for my taste don't come on soon enough, so you end up using the normal switch sometimes to suit your own preference. They won't come on if it's raining either, so I guess they haven't read Roadcraft...

mine have come on in the day when its raining, once the wipers went onto llike fullspeed they switched on, then switched off after the rain had eased off?


ive never had a problem with them and they come on at the right time.

Mine dont work, or cant figure out how to turn them on. Tried turning the ignition on, turning the light on, then to full beam, and off...still no effect...must be more to it.

Or its broke..

turn to 2nd key turn (don't start engine) then turn sidelights on and off quickly twice (you hear a beep) then you have either turned them on or off IIRC

mine have been nothing but 100% reliable by the way, turn on in rain, snow, sleet, whatever, so long as it is dark

I stalled the car a couple of weeks back in a traffic jam (oops!) and my lights, which were on 'auto' mode, went out. I've left auto mode on as it's not something i make a habit of, but did take me and a few other motorists by suprise!

i love auto lights I hat driving a car without them now a pain when you stop turn the car off and forget to turn off the lights and it beeps at you lol

auto light are superb. think mine come on a wee bitty too early too. but hey the car looks good the xenons on!!!

Personally i think side lights are a waste of time... its either dark enough to need dipped lights, or light enough not to have your lights on.

I love the auto lights... and im obsessed with the "kitchen light" effect when they "boot up" when you turn them on, its the whole xenon thing.. haha (sad)
