Aux belt change?

Hi, Ive jus had my cambelt, tensioners and water pump changed at 65,000miles Ive jus read that if the aux belt snaps it can take out the cam belt too? is this true? also is it ment to be changed at the same time as a cam belt? My aux belt hasnt been changed!

Aux belt is due at 36k, it's easiest to change the aux belt at the same time as the cam belt - but yes they can take out the cam belt if they go.

Aux kits (incl Tensioners etc) is about £110 from Renault + Labour


Edit: Just noticed your car is a 1.6 not a 1*2, so may not be applicable.

Its a bit tight for room on the clios, but not that hard. Just a simple 13mm on a spring loaded tensioner.
