Aux Belt

I got told by renault mine is perished and needs changing,ive just had a look and it looks fine but is it better to be safe than sorry? could it cause any damage?ie knocking the cam belt off.

if it goes then you have a 99% chance you're engine is going with it (yes i'm on about the aux belt)

Yes it could very likely knock the cam belt off. Wouldnt risk driving it tbh. Get it changed ASAP

i wouldnt just only do the belt mate tensioner , pulley will need doing too im having mine done tomorrow i bought the aux belt kit from renault tday £133 with vat a macanic that i know is doing mine for £100 laboure better to be safe than sorry

Looking through the paperwork now.

The timing belt kit was done in 2007 with 24k but no mention of aux belt being done

Surley it must have been done isnt it 5 years or 36k
