You can buy something called a renault tunepoint, I have one think I paid £70 for it but you can plug in an ipod (and it charges and works with your steering wheel controls) you can also plug in a usb stick or just a normal headphone sized jack for aux input.

Cheers for the replys, I'd prefer to keep the stock controls so il have a wee look at the tunepoint thing rather than a whole new head unit. :)
Also i cant view either of the links since im not a club member :/

Well then, become a club member ...and you can view the links!

The first link is a picture/text guide to installing an aux-connection for the standard headunit. Requires 10 minutes and the parts needed are surely under a tenner (parts can be bought from a trader on here called MT Audio) The second link was to my HU advert.

Wont work for your stereo as you have a tuner list unit, in order to get an aux in, you must purchase an interface at £31 plus delivery.

So purchasing the interface will allow me to use the stalk controls and have an aux input ? ( was looking at another thread and would there be a bigger advantage of buying a new hu at say no more than £70 removing the stalk controls and not bothering with the aux since the hu would have one anyway ? would that also increase the sound quality ? )

did you install it yourself?

yeah it's just a small black box that plugs into the back of the headunit then into the black box you can plug ipod/usb/aux in. Velcro'd it to the roof of my glovebox. Had to cut a small hole for the wire but hey ho.

sounds easy enough, the only thing that would sway me away from this is that a HU will increase sound quality the tunepoint simply retains it?

Yeah, I don't think there's anything wrong with standard sound quality though. I don't need "Siq bass lines" though

Aluco, have you got a photo of what it looks like on your headunit when playing a song/flicking through your iPod?

I'll take one for you if you want. All it says though is Tr-12 (Tr being track) still has the temprature and time. Doesn't say artist or anything.

I was definitely going to get the proper iPod connection from MT Audio over the Aux connection but I'm unsure now.

Is it like the iPod where it has a list of all the artists, click on one and you go through to their albums and then through to like Tr-01, TR-02 etc?

You have to choose what you want to listen to on the ipod, there's no browsing functionality on the HU

Ah right, sorry, thought you had one of those that locks the iPod and you have to go through the steering wheel controls/head unit controls.
