Hello,

Wondering if you guys can give us some help, rather than me having to read through 100's of pages on the AVForums...

Wev'e just got the new next gen Samsung N73 LCD (LE32N73BD), and it seems to be ghosting every now and then? Leaving a red/green outline?
It's done it on Channel 5 (via built in D-TV Freeview), and with a few DVD's too? Which is weird considering I bought a new DVD player with HDMI output and it's connected to the TV via HDMI also?

Any ideas? It's one of the best specced 32" out at the moment and re-fresh rate is brilliant (less than 5ms i think).

Also, the DVD Player I got (Samsung HD950), lets you select output quality via the HDMI cable. hould i be watching DVD's in 720p or 1080i ? I watched Star Wars Episode 3 last night and honestly couldn't tell any difference?

Cheers! I hope someone will know

on a 32 inch tv you'll be hard pressed to notice a difference in 720p and 1080i. have you messed with the picture settings to eliminate the ghosting?

I've got the 950 and can't tell the difference on my sammy 32" Just dont expect miracles from budget upscalers :)

Is it best to leave it as 720p then?

And Clart mate, yea, I've tried all the settings but its still there? Could it be the way the DVD is recorded/encoded? i put 24 (season 3) in, and its terrible on that. But on the other hand newer DVD's like Star Wars 3 and Underworld evolution are spot on? And there's far more blacks in those films?

if its not doing it on every dvd etc then assume its a bad source and not the TV

You reckon? it looks good on my crappy CRT in my bedroom though?

what normally causes this? is it a slow refresh rate?

A Red/Green outline on fast moving objects would "normally" suggest slow response times but we're talking 25ms+ like the early LCD screens and not something you'd expect from the latest Samsungs.
