Azerus - NAT Problem

  Shed.
Right this isnt warez or illegal so dont start moaning.

Well when im downloading somehitng, i always find i have NAT Problems, i know its somehitng to do with ym router, which for the record is some NETGEAR thing. Wondering if anyone knew how to sort it. i know the download speeds are not going to be like 700kbps or anything because there are loads of leechers on some torrents.

But how do i sort the router problem/NAT problem out ?

cheers

  Less
enable NAT on the router, which it probably is by default. The speed of the download will depend on your ISP speed you subscribe to.

Dont try and describe the error, post some screens mate. Much easier to resolve when IT gurus know the exact error message.

Yeah you need to allow Azureus into the Netgear firewall.
  • Go into Azureus properties and find out what port it is using.
  • Log into your Netgear router (normally 192.168.0.1) via your browser. The log in details are Admin / Password by default.
  • On the left hand side go to "services" which is under the "security" tab.
  • Add a customer service and call it Azureus or something.
  • Make sure the "type" is TCP and enter the port number into BOTH port boxes and click apply.
  • Next go to "Firewall rules" or "rules" (which ever you have) under "security".
  • You need to do 2 actions - 1 for inbound and 1 for outbound.
  • Click add under the inbound/outbound service. Where it says "service" you should see the customer one you have just made.
  • Make sure the action is set to "allow always".
  • Under the LAN User section select single address and enter your IP address. To find what IP address the Netgear router has you down as click "attached devices" under "maintenance" on the left. But it is normally going to be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.0.2
  • Don't enter anything under the WAN section and change the Log to "never". Then click apply.
  • Remember you need to do this for both inbound and outbound.
Should work fine after that :)
