B14's or Spax?

Right I really didn't want to make this thread so apologies now.

Bearing in mind that Its only a cheap ph1 that will mostly be used on the road I am currently stuck on the choice of coilovers.
I would prefer to get the billies as they are cheaper and I wasnt meant to be spending too much on the car but if the spax are well worth the extra £200 then I think I would have to try them.

So views?

I have the better of the two spax set ups.

In my opinion they are worth every penny and handle very well, they are comfy on the road and superb when driving hard and on track.
After going out in my car, then a mates car with racelands you can really tell the difference in decent coilovers (even though that is two extremes almost)
Ive also been in a cup running the B14's and that also handled exceptionally well and felt very nice to be in.

They are both decent setups imo.

Cheers for the reply mate lol I was tempted topm you as I saw you was running these. I would go for the rear coilover set-up too if I went for spax.

Hmm Im going to have to think about it I think. Bilsteins would be good enough just don't know if i should spend that little bit more and have the adjustable dampening.

I'm running the Billies mate, and am very happy with them. I haven't been in a car fitted with the Spax so can't comment there. In terms of the adjustable dampening, it may be nice to have, but how often would you actually change it after you had the car set up? I was in Northampton last week as my parents live there, if I'd known I'd have offered you a drive in mine so you could test the Billies. When you looking to buy, I may be back up there in a few weeks.

Not tried the spax, but I rated the b14 very highly. That's where my money would go everytime.

The B14's have a very well built reputation, the spax coilies are the new boy in the clio.

As CUB 172 said, if for some reason your ever in Suffolk give me a shout and you can have a drive.

Cheers for the offers guys I have been in a 172 cup with billies and loved it. As you say spax are the new boy and I would love to help Danny out and contribute to putting them on the map so to speak.

Billies just seem like the safe option. And I am pretty much looking to buy as soon as I make my mind up lol.

For me, both this set ups are a bit extreme for your needs. If you're not doing regular track days then spending 50% of the cars total value on race suspension is a little excessive.

Yeah personal preference I guess I don't see the problem with spending a decent wad on some suspension as long as its worth its money.

costed it up a few weeks back on another thread, and you're looking at around £550-£600 just to replace standard stuff, so to improve on standard you're logically going to have to spend similar or more

I fitted my bilsteins yesterday. And they have completely changed the car. And not too uncomfortable either. I'd highly recommend them!!!
