B2 fitted - questions

I finally fitted my Origin B2 today, but just got an annoying problem with it... every time i put my foot down the unit beeps and flashes "laser". This happens every time i accelerate hard at whatever speed and obviously shouldnt happen.... anyone got any ideas if its a setting i need to change? everything appears ok in the menus.

Also with some cameras it doesnt beep or flash, it just comes up with a double arrow on the screen?

Cheers!

My Road Angel doesnt do anything in this situation, but the double arrow on the B2 means, that the camera is on the other side of the road and cant get you travelling in the direction you are doing..

ooh rite, well thats thats that one sorted then cheers daz.... the other question is a bit more puzzling (and annoying!)

The beep when you hammer it sounds like the overspeed warn. Every time you exceed a certain speed (default 80 mph) the unit will beep at you. Obviously this is very annoying and so you can turn it off by going into the menu.

The two arrows are displayed when you go past a camera that is facing the other way to the direction you are travelling in, but again you can turn this setting off by setting the directional option to no but Id recommend leaving it on as beeps when they are not needed are useless.

thanks frosty, the "laser" warning displays when i hammer it at ANY speed, whether its 20mph or 80mph... very strange, any other sugestions before i phone origin?

Yea check that the laser module is plugged into the BLUE connector and not anywhere else (I was itching to get mine working too so can see an easy mistake here).

Also update the software to the latest vertion (1.12 from memory).

database updates been done, ill check the blue connector in the morning.

cheers, this is really annoying me!

Hope u get it sorted mate, I was about to buy a B2 myself.. it was this or a road angel, but I think the origin tells u what speed zone u r in? But not sure if the RA does tell u what Speed u have to slow down too.. just beeps. (basically u get more info with the B2) have only heard good things about it.

Our laser detector sometimes goes off for no reason. Origin said put a ferrite core on the laser unit cable. Going to get round to doing this at the weekend.

Road Angel just beeps.. going up to a camera, whether your doing 20, or 160.. its the same.. doesnt say the limit..

Apparently, this is due to speed limits changing sometimes, and people trusting the unit.. you should know the speed limit really, and its just telling you where the camera is - not if you are going slow enough to be ok!

I have the Road Angel, its amazing.. simply plug it in and it works.. all done.. no cables (well, power cable) no nothing.. cool!

UPDATE

right, all the problems mentioned above have now been sorted. its working fine and am very pleased with it!
