Back seat removal

Looking to get my back seats flatter as im intending to put loads of stuff in it tomorrow and could do with the boot floor being flat.

I've tried to take the back seats out but looks like the bolt that holds the black plate into the chassis is knackered and to torx just wont grip it. Any other way i can get this bolt out to lift the back seats up and out? ISOfix bar comes out fine. just having trouble with this single bolt. any clues?

cheers

how can a correctly fitting torx bit not 'grip'??

have you rounded the bolts off?

get a slightly smaller socket and a hammer, then a very long bar to turn it

I tried everything to get mine out, wouldn't budge, it was that bad that when I tried chisseling the nut to spin it, it broke the welds of the plate, the plate is what contains the thread to hold the bolt in place. I had to grind the head off the bolt, remove the plate (which the thread is on) from the car and take the bolt out, spot weld the plate back on, decided to get couple of bits done while I was there and angle grind the excess welds off, leaving a smooth finish, then spray over with satin black paint :)

Came out pretty much perfect tbh, you wouldnt notice it had ever been welded lol.

the thread of the bolt is exposed under the car although i'm not sure how much of it protrudes - if there's enough there, there are a couple of things you could try doing
