I've tried a few of these, and they never seem to work for more than about a day. Is there one which is actually any good? Someone today told me black shoe polish (proper wax stuff not bottled liquid) is the best and last the longest - is that worth a shot? It's only for my mirror bases and the bit round my lock on the boot.

Autoglym Bumper Care works as well as anything else out there when applied properly.

problem with the vee is the number of wee squares on the front bumper, to use AG BC or trim gel is a total pain in the ass!!! I end up just prayin them with that back to black s**t! Then once a month i'll use blackfire or CG trim gel.

I use Einszett Vinyl and Rubber on the lower grilles.

Einszett on smooth plastics, AG Bumper Care on textured.

+1

Much better than any 'back to black' crap. I used to get through the stuff at a stupid rate cause it didn't last.

Using bumper care now and after 2 months without re-application it still looks better than a week after 'back to black'.

Check out Black Wow, i think Elite Car Care stock it! The guys over on Detailing world seem to rate it!

Bumper care is my normal choice, however read that WD40 is as good, so a can of 97p asda special WD40 later, pretty impressed, got to be careful it doesnt get on the paint, but other than that, i think it works pretty well! and a hell of a lot cheaper!!

WD40 is pretty good, not that durable but adds a nice wetness to the plastic, and beads water as good as or better than anything else I have used on the plastics, it is designed to displace water after all...
