Booked in for Service (60k) and MOT today. Talk about bearer of bad news :dapprove:

needs new rear springs £50 fitted (wtf) - i know i could get some alot cheaper off here but need the car tomorrow and MOT runs out today.

Also needs new discs and pads- £85 for "budget" set or £120 for what my mechanic bigs up as "performance" breaks.

soo all together its going to cost me the grand total of £300 :( bad times.

really glad i just got paid aswell. gutted tbh

tell me about it. not much i can do though tbh. price wise the mechanic is normally quiet good what i use.

uses genuine renault parts and all the right tools etc. he charged me £100 for a timing belt and £120 for a new clutch which i thought was quiet reasonable... not sure about the above prices tbh just agreed to pay..

*MUG* lol

To be fair those prices dont sound too bad for a garage.

Of course if you did that all you self it would cost less than half that.

cars are money pits sometimes

tell me about it maan!

i think if i did it i would cause even more damage to the car lol

Its a car things break/wear out...may I suggest selling the car and taking the bus?

its alright doing that but when you take into account that bus fare for me costs £2 to work and £2 back- by the time iv spent 4 quid, gritted my teeth through the scroats on the back seat blasting out "solja boi" and walked for ten mins from the bus stop to work - i may aswell have put 4 quid petrol money in the car to get me there back and probably a couple extra miles.

if public transport was cheap i think that i would use it where possible but its a joke imo

well mines currently sat at home with no MOT, failed on sat, needs new CV boot, hopefully should come today, and the rear number plate light has a dodgey connection which i shall be investigating at lunch, the xenon can stay exactly how it is and ill take it to a less anal garage
