Front just pulls off, back is a pig, needs the boot release all removed then to be removed from the behind as its glued.. leave the paint.. add some carbon love instead

Front diamond comes off just by pulling it its held in place by 2 pins one at the top 1 at the bottom.

The rear diamond is part of the back boot look mechanisim you need to take the plastic panel off inside the boot and remove the screws that hold that in place the the hole unit comes out and you can get at the rear diamond. There maybe a faster way?

Paint: 1 x 330ml Can of Grey Halfords Primer , 1 x Can of halfords 330ml car paint any colour, 1 can of 330ml halfords clear laquer.

Sandpaper: 1x sheet of 80 grit, 1 x sheet of 600 wet n dry , 1x sheet of 800 wet n dry.

*Remove diamonds
*Fully clean with warm soapy water
*Dry fully
*Sand with 80 grit for appox 20mins per diamond
*Clean with damp cloth and dry
*Primer repeat coats every 20mins 4 coats
*Once dry use 600 grit paper wet with warm un soaped water
*Dry fully
*800 Grit paper wet with warm un soaped water
*Dry fully
*Spray with paint repeating every 20mins 2 coats
*Leave 24 hours
*Clear laquer every 30mins 4 coats

Jobs done if you want a mint finish leave around 7 days then polish them

Hope that helps

yea, just dull the badge, using essentially a kitchen scouring pad, if your going black just give it a few thin coats of matt or gloss, leave for however long the can says, then a few coats of lacquer. if you get dust in it and it really bothers you, maybe flat with 1500 VERY gently, its a tiny piece with raised edges you can easily sand through. TBH, it's small, and you'll prob get a stone chip in it anyway if you spend ages. mine, in white.
