Did it 5 or so days ago, been playing it a lot since then, went again last night. Just doing it again now. Great way of prolonging the life of a 360 with RROD until you can get a new one.

Mines a launch console, and in broken state is worth £80 trade in at game! Bargain! Roll on next pay day...

Leave it running wrapped in towels for 30 mins. Then let it cool (powered off) for 15 mins and it fixes the red rings of death.

Got this console on the day of the 360's release and its still alive... JUST.

I can't believe £80 for a release console with no HDMI and broken? They actually said they would take it broken? Considering it's only like £40 more for a brand new one with HDMI...edit: they have gone up in price, they were £130 when I last got one so £60.

It's £40 at CEX boxed.

3 year for rrod consoles so this will be hard to argue on warranty for. After 5 years he's had a fair bit of use out of it.

If its still broke/when it brakes again i'd be tempted to open it up and have a go at fixing it myself.

That's fair enough. Pretty much every person I know who has an xBox has had RROD with it. Mine, however, has been stellar for as long as I've owned it.
