Battery dead

  Ph1 track 172
Used to unlock and start fine.

then all of a sudden, it is completely dead,
nothing at all.

Bumped it and left it on for a few minutes,

park it on my drive and leave it for a week or so,
go to start it again, completely dead again, not even enough charge to unlock it!

so i put it on charge. The next evening i take it off charge, but didnt have enough time to test it.

Got round to testing it the next day......completely dead!

a multimeter across the battery shows 8v, both with the terminals connected, and without.

Need to get it fixed, but not really an electrical person, so could somebody please tell me where to start looking for the cause of the problem?!

Also when you put the ignition on, all the lights a flickering, but the coil symbol with like a jagged line underneith is actually flashing. not sure if this is the problem, or if its just because of the flat battery??!

please help.

thats why its dead lol they need to be used tbh.

the insides fer up if not used if its the same battery as your daily when you buy a new one (which you need to do) swap them over regualy to keep them both up to scratch as it were !

what charger do you use mate?

if its a low power one, its gonna take longer then 1 day to charge!

just get it charged anough to start then take it for a loooong run to put some charge back in it. but i reckon if its been left for long its dead!

just change it. it fcuked as said above. no point wasting electric in charging it. go down the scrappers and get a battery from them if your really tight and dont want to spend the cash. they sometimes keep the good ones for resale..
but the website above had one for £32.94 plus £8.00 postage.

just get it sorted. job done
