Battery light flickering

My battery light flickers on and off occasionally. Im getting it checked over next week. Is this likely to be just the battery/alternator/alternator belt? Anyone else experienced this fault?

It never stays on. Just flickers a few times. Dodgy connection somewhere?

not the altinator mate , that would make is continually on

mine sometimes doesnt come on at all? battery failed under load test but has never caused me any problems.

I had the exact same problem, which I ignored like an idiot. The time for which the light stayed on gradually lengthened over time until one night it stayed on and my car died!

It turned out to be a wire on the alternator that had perished - the main feed wire that can be seen at the front of the alternator. Cheap and easy to repair/replace, I patched mine up and its still fine 8 months on.

Lucas that sounds spot on. I will look into that this weekend and see if i can save myself a few quid in garage charges! Buy that man a pint!

check all the alternator/battery connections and make sure the aux belt tension is ok.
