Battery light on dashboard is on????? HELPPP!!!!

Hi there,

recently the cable that earths my body to the engine block snapped and so i have created a new current going from battery to body and then from battery to engine block, now the car starts and everything's OK, except the dashboard light for the battery is on? This obviously indicates that my alternator isn't working and the car is therefore running on the battery, however ive tested the alternator and it is working fine and charging my battery but that light is still on? How do i fix this?

Did you check the wire to the charge circuit is fine/intact as its common for snapping?

have you checked voltage both sides of the main wire fuse?

voltage is ok, but nick where is this wire located?

Its the single wire to the alternator on its rear face... and its Mick (unless you pay)
