Battery light stuck on 1.8 RSi - FIXED

  182 Trophy #333
So my mate bought my old 1.8 RSi off me, which means everytime theres the slightest hint of something going wrong or a funny noise, my phone immediately starts ringing.

So yesterday i get a call, "so i went over a big bump, and now the battery lights stuck on, it flickered a bit, went out, came back on and hasnt gone out again"

Brilliant, i thought, so off i popped with my multimeter, 12.6v from the battery, turned the car on 12.6v from the battery and from the output on the alternator, so uhoh i thought, busted alternator.

So i thought well maybe if i give it a bit of a knock it might spark some life into it, well the only hammer we could find in his garage was a sledge hammer.....so i gave it a couple of gentle taps with that and hey presto, battery light goes out and the alternators kicking out 13.8 volts.

Probably wont last much longer, but gotta love fixing stuff with a hammer!
