battery nackered??

my clocks keep sort of jumping about when I start the car - make a nasty noise then sorts itself out - i have been told battery might need replacing - I charged the battery last wek and its doing it again - I guess battery coukd be nackered or something draining battery whilst car switched off

Any ideas?
