I'd advise you visit another garage. One that knows what they're talking about.

You're relying on a crusty 5 year old piece of rubber keeping the top and bottom of your gnome together....

I see what you did there

That car looks amazing. It's almost too clean lol.

The dipping lab on here are good at body work and very competitively priced, the only problem for you is they're in Crewe. I'm not sure if that's too much of a trek for you?

And as daniel said, get a specialist on here to do the belts, they perish through age as well as wear.

Don't forget I know the csrs history having owned it for 8yrs plus my csr lives in a heated garage its crueller on the wife's year and a half old corsa I can see that deteriorating faster as its always outside

But your car lives in a heated garage....

If a solid piece of metal can deteriorate, so can a rubber belt, or a pulley, or a tensioner.

It's not worth the risk mate. £600 on belts or over £1200 to have the head rebuilt.

See your point but the springs are the original, belts hae been done before 13k ago

Dont trust Renault parts to last even as long as they claim. As said, since the dawn of CS, belts before 5yrs or you may as well find yourself a new engine now.
and....did you just change the one, snapped, spring?

I don't like it when my gnomes come apart. Really messes up the theme around the pond in the front garden.

Car looks tidy tho !
