Beleive it or not...

  X-172 Cup
Believe it or not...

I used to own this:View attachment 4721 I didn't get much change out of 25 grand when I bought it brand new.

Due to a change of circumstances and lifestyle I then bought this:
View attachment 4722 for a little under 7 grand

Guess which one is the best car I have ever owned/driven/enjoyed???

Guess which car had a major mechanical failure and needed a new engine? - The dealer and UK sales refused to admit there was a problem and I had to claim for a new engine on my Car Insurance? I drove through some standing water at speed and got water into one of the cylinders

The answers may surprise you but probably not...;)

still in love with my Cup:

Nice Audi what spec was it?
I'm not surprised they didn't pay out most companies won't there a few X5's had to go throught insurance as there intakles are to low.

Juding by your plate I'd say you bought the Audifrom Chester if so then the techies there are usless a friend and his friend had dealing with them reciently.

was top of the range 1.9TDI 130, Quattro/Sport/6 Speed/Gmbh Sport Pack/Kit & Suspenders + Buffalino black leather & brushed aluminium. Last of the Gmbh before they did the facelift.

I drove through some standing water on the country lane outside our house, about 1/2 mile from Chowley Oak biz park...was very upset @ the time TBH, you expect a Quattro to cope with a bit of standing water but it went straight up the intake and into the engine...kicked up a massive fuss @ Dane & Audi UK but caved in in the end...

I always found Sophie @ Chester Audi (formerly Dane) service very helpful though TBH

You had any joy with the Williams m8?

Gotta love the old clios.. ive had 2.. and apart from munching my way through 3 clutch cables in the old one ive had no problems what so ever.. they are wicked cars.. and i am sure that i will get a bigger engined one next.

You gotta agree with me when i say they are just good cheap fun.

The reception seem good its the mechanics which caused the problems.

Nope, WIlliams is still for sale parents keep pushing me to sell it :-( insurance won't let me get a faster replacement car for the diesel for some reason. They won't insure me on a 182 or VRS Fabia.

You pay all that money for an Audi and you expect trouble free motoring for a minimum of 3 years whatever the mileage...lesson learned on my part...still love Audi's mind, wouldn't mind the new RS4 but the whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth...still loving that sexy CTR?

Thats the thing about the Renault Sport Clios, for the money you get a great little car, apart from niggly problems like the rattles there great.

per £ nothing really comes close to the performance clios available imo

find a car that can be bought 2nd hand for £7500 around 2 years old can do 135 (approx) 0-60 in 7secs (or so - blah blah), handles superbly and can do 37mpg?

even as a new buy its a decent choice as for £12-13k outlay you should get around 45-50% back after 3 years provided its FSH and mint - decent returns i feel.

glad your enjoying it SCPM the audi is smart, but a bit too much pipe and slippers and not enough rawness.

I had a blast of a 530d last week from a contractor I know, its an auto - rapid as anything but pretty boring and bland to drive and only on a par with my 172 for fuel - so a bit of headfcuk fuel wise 80 litres of diesel = 92.9p a litre - OOOOOOUCH. Smart and well built but cost a package to service and maintain and for all the luxury you get it aint worth the cash, id sooner have 2 cars for the outlay for a 530d or audi a4/6 tdi - a 172 and then a chipped Fabia Vrs or equiv.

Much better combo - diesel for the mundane motorway chat and then 172 for some b road blasts and country tours :approve:

LOL same spec as mine, having issues with Audi covering a bit of peeling paint on the bottom of the spoiler. Say its just wear and tear, tossers.... next company smoker new 330d.
