Ben put a load of work into that car and spent a small fortune on it.
Something must be wrong with it for the new owner to be selling for that price/unable to get an MOT.

I am currently looking for a 182 but this is nice but would be good to know the history of it.

Is there a build thread on here?

Thanks

i went to look at this few weeks back the day after it popped up for sale as i was going to buy it , the car didnt go very well at all for a supercharged car IMO sounded like it had a boost leak as it was very woooooosssssssshhhhhhhyyyyyyyy , after being out in my mates at 240bhp this never felt anywhere near that power , also the guy wouldn't let me drive it which i thought was a bit weird seeing as i was going to be buying the car hence my reason for not buying it also as i wanted to give it a good ragging to make sure no crunch's in the gears high up the rev range , and to see how the engine ran after giving it a good drive , paint job isnt that good either , rusting on top of bonnet , rear wheel arch is flaking a bit , needs a new window screen mot failure , front disc's pads are shagged, paint work isnt very good IMO , the car hasnt done much milage since being resprayed a few thousand miles and it was already starting to chip and you could see through the paint on some panels the grey primer underneath where the paint wasnt sprayed on that thick front passenger wing i think etc etc , the kids said i wouldnt be selling the car for 4.2k if it had all the work done to it it would be a 6-7k car , by the time the work would of been done the car would of owed me close to 5k depending how mint you wanted the car, dont get me wrong it is worth 4k but it didnt seem that much of a bargain by the time all the bits were fixed ,

No it does sound like it's been driven hard with very little care tbh, I don't blame you for not buying it after reading that.

It's also on sale for here in the for sale section.

What makes me laugh about the ad though is the fact it's had a small fortune spent on the engine and then it lists under suspension, Raceland coilovers.....lol.

i was quite impressed with the raceland coilovers , they were smoother than the standard ride , and handled well , i was suprised as i to thought they would be crap but they werent

Shame as when I went out in it, it was awesome.

Ben put alot of time & money in it too....

On a side note, nothing wrong with Raceland/K-tec's coilovers for fast road use. I've had them twice on two different 182's and they are absolutely fine IMO.

I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, the previous owner ripped me off over a broken radiator..

  Whichever has fuel
The problem with cars like this and the people that buy them from the person that built them, is that these cars need to be worked on and have money spent on them ever other week.

Its not like a standard car that can just be driven parked up and forgotten about.

As soon as you start neglecting them, things go wrong. Then the part attatched to that goes wrong and so on and so on until eventually the car is just a pile of badly modified junk.

As dans first paragraph, I couldn't sell mine even if it worked 100% all the time, all the little quirks that the guy who built it knows about wouldn't be worth living with. Every other weekend something goes wrong with mine but 95% of the time it's a simple fix/hit

Shame, as it was a great car when Ben had built it

I'd agree with the above two statements. There's sh*t loads wrong with my car, which I know about and let slide. Some one else would not want to buy it in it's current state.
