basically just found out the previous owner of my car hit a kerb at speed , ive also tried tracking it but it keep goin back , so how can i see if my subframe is bent , will it be visably noticable or will i need to measure etc ,
It may or may not be visible, in short. Things to consider:
My subframe (from hitting a kerb) looked warped rather than "bent." It looked fine in an iPhone picture but clearly wasn't. The "tabs" that are welded on to attach the wishbone/A-arm are for more susceptable to bending than the actual subframe itself, so "bent subframe" could mean 98% of it is actually fine.
I'd have thought it'd be visible witha good torch, jacked up and a wheel off. However even my very warped subframe/wishbone mounts were only really really obvious once it was on the floor sat next to a new subframe.
