Best 13cm replacment for door speakers

hi,

like most people iam wanting to replace my crapper paper dome door speakers in the 172 with something with a bit more depth and openess to the mid.. any ideas i can spend upto £70-£80 for a pair

i saw some pioneer ones in halfords which were 13cm and i was really impressed by them. they were only £20ish too!

for that kind of money id go for Phoenix Gold Octane R, your local Motor World can get these in for you

ok.. is £70 too much.. i do want a step up in terms of bass depth (even though same size probably bigger magnets) and midange clarity, but if i can get some nice ones for less i will... £20 doesnt seem very much though for quality. although i bet the standard reno ones are from an old Alba stereo.

hows about £40-£50 then.. any in that price range

the Phoenix Gold i suggested are about £80-£100 IIRC

in the doors yes, in the dash no

yes they are, speakers fit easily in too, plenty or clearance, and splenty of scope for spacer rings if neccessary
