Best 182 coilovers currently available?

  182 Cup
Anyone got any opinions on the best 'off the shelf' coilover suspension currently available for a 182?

Bilstein PSS9 from Yozzasport?
The new AST set up?
KW variant 3 again from Yozzasport?

  Black 182 + Recaros
H&R's.

197gaz had 3 sets of them for his 172, 182 and 197. He seems happy.

I've just ordered a set for my 182.

For the track! Why else would you even consider spending anywhere near that much on suspension!? Say up to £2k including pro set up.

suspension building experience lol

they never fitted a car correctly you could only get -1 deg neg camber with out the wheels fouling the dampers and to get -2.5 deg neg camber you had to run 10mm wheel spacers which is not a brilliant idea also gdi and there suplyer fell out and i lost 9 months due to the problem

PMSL!!!!!! Thats well funny. I remember thejesus MAJORLY bigging these up. Just goes to show eh??!!! TUV stuff FTW!!!!

  RB 182 Special.
I have H&Rs on my 182 and they are superb. They only seem marginally harder than the Cup Pack suspension, but they improve the handling massively. I have no frame of reference as far as other coilovers are concerned, so can't tell you whether they're better than any others, but from what I've heard they are supposed to be one of, if not the best. But then I guess it depends what you want them for.

I mainly want mine for the road, but if I was on a track every weekend then maybe there would be a different answer. Someone on here will no doubt have the answer to that though.

Sounds all too similar to the farce that was my order with them for the GAZ coilovers when nothing else was on the market. Took my money, was told they would arrive soon only to be fobbed off for months on end and when they finally turned up they were abysmal. Never had an invoice out of them for the goods either.

AST's of course. But does depend what you want them for????

have you ever driven a clio on ledas? im still to drive one with ASTs

Ive not driven on them no. I was just making an amusing comment. of course im goin to say it as i have got the ast's so im not goin to say leda. Oil based shocks are old hat now. not used anymore on modern stuff. Far too much to go wrong imo. Its all gas stuff now. simple design but affective.

My (current) opinion

Road(light track/ring), H&R.
Track, Leda.

However ive not been in an AST equipped car. But if they are as good as other AST setups ive tried then well they would be best.

wouldn't touch LEDA, but thats my own preference, KW race kit is stunning, too nice to put on the car almost! H&R awesome, Bilstein again awesome

Dan is yet to come over and let me drive his AST car

So is the KW v3 kit the only one so far discussed that has seperate adjustment for bump and rebound? Also is the stainless steel construction of any real benefit?

Can someone tell me more about the AST set up? Is it a coilover unit at the rear too? And what degree of adjustment do they have?

from what i gathered - coilovers all round - 12 clicks of adjustment, they can make them and valve them to your specification

And i disagree with Fred the LEDA's are excellent!

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
the bilstiens were more crashy, the back was a bit stiffer than the rear of the H&Rs, which is a good thing!
