I seem to think that induction kits which draw air in from round the engine bay causes poor running especially in hot weather, i found this when i tried one on my Astra GTE years ago, other ones you can get are enclosed, i think Viper do one, these have their own pipe feeding cold air from behind the bumper so it dosn't draw hot engine compartment air in, only problem is that these cost a small fortune.

I think most people including myself has opted for a replacement panel filter to go in the standard airbox Itg are a popular one to go for.

Hope this helps

cheap ripspeed open cone, sounds awsome, dont notice any difference in power even though hot air is drawn in, only cost me 26 bucks

i got a green cone for £5 (yes a £5!) off ebay with all the bits 2nd hand but wasnt even dirty.
it sounds ace but i need to sort out a much better cold air feed and gonna manoeuvre some sort of heat shield around it cos in this weather its a bit useless, maybe worse than standard, cos it drawin all the hot air from engine in cos theres no room under the bonnet.
id consider one of these enclosed ind kits but i dont understand why cos its just like havin a fancy standard airbox isnt it if its enclosed!? ie - not loud enuff

same here, bargain for 26 pounds and it sounds great....

panel filters apparently avoid torque loss, but if like me you want a beefy sound to match the performance then go for something like mine, although be warned of petrol consumption!!
