As the title suggests, whats the best anti virus to go for? preferrably one thats free, and doesnt come with a load of shite you dont need that slows your computer down?

1.Kaspersky without a doubt, small memory footprint and doesn't hog resources. In addition, theres probably 2/3 updates daily.

2.F-Secure, good AV but aimed more at corperates and business IMO.

137273.Norton AV....Resource hog and likes to eat masses of RAM, also pretty useless in my experience with too many false alarms. Seems that if you plug in an a device you get 6 windows open up saying your being attacked by Sub.Seven.Trojan or something equally ridiculous.

The corporate editions of symantec are good. It's just the personal editions that are greedy hogs.
