Yes I know, bear with me here. I know quiet a lot about detailing and machine polishing and know how important prep of the paintwork is before you go anywhere NEAR a car with a rotory.

I will be the first to admit that I have VERY limited knowledge of clay, and have always just bought CYC's own brand. I have however, completely forgot that I have got 0 clay left and was planning on starting my car tomorrow in preperation for Trax (its been neglected lately).

I would never usually touch Halfords for detailing things out of principle but needs must and to do this properly i really need clay (quiet agressive as im not f**king about). Whats the best thing i can get from Halfords?

x

Megs is good enough from Halfrauds, just needs a few going over... Buy some more lube though if you don't have any other!

halfrauds has 3 for 2 on all cleaning products at the mo... thats the only reason ive gone anywhere near it lately!

Its added another 7 quid on my order for next day delivery. WTF thats a right rob :S how can it go up from 2.98 to 7 quid?

Just buy the cheap halfords clay kit and chuck everything away but the clay. I would say unless you are a proper perfectionist you won't notice a difference if you are worried about the price.

Or just purchase it...leave it at normal delivery??? Then drop Matt a PM asking if he can post it first class?? Im sure a normal Royal Fail letter would cost him less then £2.56 or whatever and still get to you in time??

Edit Theres a delivery instructions box there ou could ask in there and also email him???? Id offer to post you one of mine but im at work.

I will take a punt on it anyway as i need some. Will just lend some off a friend if it doesn't arrive...

Thanks richy :)

the meguiars kit is good but the quick detailer supplied for the lube does'nt last very long - a simple water / shampoo mix in a spray bottle is very good for the job though, this is what i use :)

just bought some last touch to use instead. never used it before.

good choice, its well regarded on DW - good for clay lube, glass cleaning, drying aid and final wipe down after sealing/waxing. AFAIK most people use it in a 50/50 mix with water..

That it does. I have tried quite a number of dilution ratios and 2:1 is best. Any weaker and the clay started to feel like it was getting stuck, which is obviously a bad thing!

And as said above, it smells brilliant!

Reading fail huh ;) (not you!)

Someone said the other day to me .."f**k me I can smell your air freshener that's nice".

I was like errr no thats from cleaning my car. He then proceeded to smell the body panels on my car...he got some rum ol looks of passing people.

Is it coconut or something?

You can buy standard sized bottles of it as well (or you could, think it use to be called Megs 38 as use to get it from the US).
