best cutting compound

Hi there,

I have a black/gold 182 ,it has serveral swirls.

Could you tell me which compound works the best with a cutting pad for the porter cable...

You don't really want to start off the the best cutting compound on a cutting pad.

Start mild and build up to harsh compounds and pads if you need them.

I would look into the Menzerna Final Finish(s) on Polishing pads stepping up to Menzerna Intensive Polish on a cutting pad if needed.

Which cutting and finishing pads do you use, i have sonus and ccs pads.

I have not tried the megs yet but ive read some good right ups about em.

The Megs Pads seem better suited to Rotary use.

On my own car mostly DAS pads.

Most other jobs Sonus SFX Cutting, polishing and finishing pads, Menzerna Polishing Pads and Lake Country Glazing Pads.

Follow this with chemical guys spider web.


This combo removed scratches and swirls that nothing else would.

i use the poorboys ssr range, tried a lot and settled with this, produces the results and is very easy to work with, and a doddle to remove aswell

The Poorboys are by far the easist to master, the gloss and finish the Menzerna Final Finishes get surpasses that of them though.
