Best HD AV Cable to use for 360?

  Audi S3 225
Hi, just recently got a 42 inch LCD TV so I can play my 360 in high def, but i have 2 cables one is the Component HD AV Cable and the other is the VGA HD AV Cable to connect to pc monitors etc. At the moment I’m using the later as I thought that it would be the best, i have it running at the 2nd bottom to last resolution(not sure what it is at mo) and it looks amazing. But just wondering is it worth changing over to the other one that came with the 360???

I did try and play Halo 2 on it and it wouldn’t run probably saying i need a cable that supports 50HZ or something.

Also is there much difference using an optical out cable instead of connecting my aux cables straight to the back off my DVD player?

Thanks dudes

Allan

its subjective as to which cable gives the best pic, i prefer the compnent but some prefer the vga.

to upscale SD DVD's on the HD-DVD addon you need to be using the VGA cable but for games i don't think it matters.

i brought a mad cats vga cable from pcworld.
Picture is massively improved and it comes with a digital cable for the 5.1.
£15.99 so £4 cheeper than the microsoft cable

will i need a better cable for true HD then wozza? or will i be able to experience HD with the cable that comes with it

i tried out the Component cable 2day and i couldnt get a decent sharp picture just looked blurry and dull. I tried all the 1080i and 1080p settings along with the lower ones and all looked the same. So i went back to my vga cable and it looks 100 times better im running at 1360x768.

component should in no way look fuzzy it is picture perfect on my screen, did you set the switch on the cable to hd? compont means you only use the red blue and green cables, not the yellow! Not to be confused with composite which uses the yellow connector, both use the red and white audio cables unless you are using optical. the HD cable contains all of these so you need to use the right ones and make sure it is set to hd using component.

Ive used both VGA and the standard component cable.. VGA won it for me, although to be fair there is very little difference.
