Best mod to start with on a diesel

I just got a Clio gt 1.5 dci 106

I want to make it go faster lol but I have no idea where to actual start or what to be doing

Any help would be appreciated

Err... a Clio GT 1.5 dci 106 is a Mk3, so it has a turbo...

How fast did you think it would be !? Are you talking 0-60 times or mid range punch ? Diesels dont do quick off the line..

But SRSly - as theduck says... change hardware then a remap to make the most of those.

Only on track days though, I wouldnt dream of advocating such things for public road use Besides better brakes with standard power is a safer choice as opposed to more power and standard brakes

Friend owns Clio mk2 dci and he remaped it to around 120hp. Its really fast. Actually second fastest Clio mk2. 1.6 16V is no match for him so the only fastest Clio mk2 is RS.

Wrong, DCIs are turbo'd and the more powerful versions see quite a healthy increase from just a remap.

I thinK it remaps from 106 to around 140 depending on who does the remap

Yeah as has been said you're talking total tripe.

I'd get it lowered first. Massive arch gap ftl. Then re-map.

Was think about the ones for the 200 but I don't know if I could get them in it

Remapping it will void the warranty on everything conencted to it, so Engine, Dash operation, alarm, immobiliser etc etc. Not worth it, you buy a new car for warranty, not for out and out modding,

If you wanted a faster, better stopping car, you should have just paid the bit extra for a 200 imo.

I was gonna buy a 200 mate but for all it was just a 1000 more the insurance is sky high because

I busted up my old car an astra Sri then the next day got caught on my phone in the courtesy car and got 3 points and a fine. I'm under 21 so the insurance was 4000 plus not worth it mate crazy money
