Best paint for subframe, suspension struts ect...

Hi All

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.

Ive currently got the car stripped down and wanting to tidy up the whole subframe assembly.

What would be the best was to paint these and will any paint be ok for the job?

Im thinking that wire brush the struts down and paint with black gloss and down it with a paint brush or rattle can it?

Also do the same to subframe but degrease it first to remove any oil and shite thats built up over the years.

So would wire brushing them down be sufficient enough? And what would be the best way to paint them? Rattle can or good old paint & brush?

Cheers
Scott

If the wire brush is no use you can get wire brush attachments for grinders which are good.

And the paint.. not too sure but what about hammerite?

I removed mine completely. Then sand blasted them and painted them with Bonda Rust which was red, very strong paint. Then I used a lorry chassis paint which was Iveco Scholobus Yellow. It's on my project thread if you want a look

I used Hammerite on my dampers. I painted them with a brush but I reckon that the spray would have been better suited.
