Best steering wheel set for PS3?

  182
Im after a decent steering whell set to play GT5 but not sure what to use, seen low entry thrustmaster but wasnt to keen on it, any for a decent price?

Best wheel I've used is the Fanatec Porsche wheel (£350 ish). You might want to specify a budget so people know what a "decent" price means. I know the G25 is rated albeit an older model Logitec wheel and should be able to find one sub £150 although the reviews I've seen have found deadzones with the G25 and most other sensibly priced wheels (aside from the Fanatec wheel) when used with GT5.

I have read good reviews about the logitech force feedback, official gt5 wheel.

Was about £80 in Argos

Im open to anything really budget way as id rather get a decent one rather than buy cheap n then have to get another one later on!

If you've got a decent budget I'd go with the Fanatec wheel then. Compatible with the PC and xbox360 (if that's of any benefit to you) and Inside Sim Racing rate it very highly and didn't have the issue with deadzones that other "entry level" wheels suffered. For sub £100 I'd go with the logitec GT Force pro (GT licenced wheel) as it seemed pretty good when I used it.

Yeah got that its sweet, if you have deep pockets the thrustmaster 500 seems to be better than anything else on the market by quite some margin!

Are there any reviews around for that wheel yet? Even the information I'd seen lately had been scarce let alone actual units in reviewers hands.

I'm currently using a G25 and have done for the last 2 years or so. very capable wheel and served me very well.... works very very well on GT5 , F12010 etc etc.. BUT i have recently been thinking of selling it due to the mad prices they are fetching on ebay at the sec ( £180-£280 in the last week:eek:, i paid £150 2 years ago lol) and upgrading to a fanatec gt3 rs v2 with clubsport pedals ( £270 from fanatec ) problem is the fanatec are out of stock at the sec and not due in till mid Jan sometime so i don't want to let this go and be left without a wheel for too long..... hmmm decisions

Just to throw in my 2 cents about the more expensive wheels....... I've been using a G27 and although its a fantastic wheel, part of me wishes I'd gone for a cheaper unit.

The H-Pattern shifter is bit too "light" and flimsy for my liking (I'd hoped it'd feel a bit more "mechanical") and as a result I've just ended up using the paddle shifters most the time. I'm guessing that its only really the H-Patern shifter that differentiates the G27 from others? (correct me if I'm wrong - I've not tried that many other units)

For that reason, one of the less pricey wheels wchich just offer paddles would be my choice.

Think im gonna go for the official GT5 wheel, would love an all singing all dancing one but reviews seem to be good on the logitech one!

If you can find it in stock anywhere, I've looked everywhere for one! Anyone know when new stock is due on the logitech GT one?

If you can find them, buy a few lol. I bought mine for £80, used it for a few weeks, sold it for £150 (inc postage) on ebay.

I went into Argos on Saturday and they had one logitech GT coming in stock on Sunday so reserved it and picked it up Sunday. It's a nice wheel I'm impressed with it.

Same as me m8. I take that as an appreciation of how good the G25's are - as well as the fact that the G27's are strangley a LOT more expensive.

The G25 is an epic wheel and pedals set. So glad I bought mine when I did. :)
