Best suspension kit for 03 1.2 dynamique

  K20 EG Hatch

I am lookin to lower my car on my standard alloys for the time being but I dont know whats the best suspension to go for. I deffinately dont want just springs i want a full kit so you get alot better handling.

Does anybody know if koni sports kits are the best for the money.

Or any alternative i dont want no cheap sh*t thats why i thought koni.

Please help, also how low is the koni sports kit or any alternative.

yeah loads of options

just springs IMO is fine (have to be 60mm though)

or Koni adjustables with 60mm springs

OR coilovers

i had a full kit on my old mk 1 clio and couldnt notice the difference between just springs and full kit.

so this time on my 1.6 dynamique ive just put springs on. p.is

do u reckon its not worth puttin a full koni sports kit on then?and just gettin springs?is koni the best make to go for a full kit cuz im pretty sure thats what im gonna go for, can ya get 60mm in the sports kit and will 17s go on this without rubbin?

You are better off with Coilovers so you can adjust the ride hight;).......-60mm on 17" should be fine when you go´for 7" rims and et37-38.

I had springs for a year (Eibach´s) and they were wery good, now i´m on H&R coilovers and thats a whole different story........They are truley awesome!!! Lowered -65mm on 17´s only rubs on full lock, but hey it looks sweet!:D

how good do u reckon these are, i mean are they the best to go for, i think i want lower than 35mm though do u know any top makes of coil overs to go for?about 50mm?want it low but dont want no rubbin at all!even on lock!and great handling!

  Clio II and Grand Modus

Koni´s are good, but -35mm are not much.....You will regret it, as you want to go´lower!! Eibach sport-line lover about 50mm and are wery good. I would say Eibach sport-line springs and some sports shocks to go´with your springs like the koni´s. If you don´t want any rubbing don´t go´ lower than -55mm on 17". You can also fit the springs on std. shocks, will work fine, until you deside if you wan´t to upgrade them......Had Eibach´s on my std. shocks, they were wery good, and great handling.

If you want some cheap lowering without insurance implications then do some hard driving mine seems low even though its stock. Mine about 30mm down on normal only mod is 24.5k of hard miles and bottoming it out a few times.

wot?? I doubt it!

r u sure youve not just knackered the shocks or got concrete in your boot edde??

  Meg on pistonheads £6995

p.s. I got 40mm APEX (fitted for only £122 at BB in Essex) and 17s - Im well chuffed!

much less roll and ride firm but not hard.

is it really worth spending a fortune on posh shocks on a sub-100HP car??

ok then, everyone tell me what hey are using to lower there car around 50mm, how many of u are using full coil overs and how many just springs, what make they are and how good do u rate em.

cheers

Not quite sure but an old thread here was on about high the splitter is of the floor seemed the norm was ~160mm with one owner at 180mm high. Mine got 130mm clearance though. Also the pics on the site Ive seen of lowered cars look very similar to mine.

No concrete in the boot usually only me in the car. Ive loaded ti to the roof before but I wouldnt say Ih have exceeded it max weight.

Ive only got the old Mk2 version 1 hayney to check sizes with and its low but just inside there spec for wheel to sill height.

Anyone fancy checking how high there car is. Id like to lower mine no as I think Im goin to pay my loan early and get some suspension but lowering it 60mm would give us very little clearance and probably a bust splitter.

the dCi sits a bit lower at the front as standard - heavier engine.

mine was about 150mm B4 @ front, 110 now.

wheelarch visible above tyre (vertical from top of tread) from 55mm to 15mm

whats the best to go for, for 50mm?i dont mind spendin alot of money cause i want it to handle really well, as it does as standard, just its in 4x4 height!i would prefer a fall coilover kit but if u lot reckon just springs on standard suspension is good enough i will go for them!

If you dont mind spending alot of money then go for Coilovers give you more options later if you want to raise it or lower more or whatever, Otherwise just get springs

Id get coilovers..id say get the 50mm eibachs and koni dampers but i dont think it works out much cheaper does it?

My -80mm FKs are sweet as!

If thats the case go´ for coilovers!!! Std. shocks wiil not last, and are not made for -50mm. I think a spring kit with sport shocks will be a little less £££, but why don´t do it right the 1. time........;)

Look at K-Tec´s website, they have the Eibach´s and dampers to go with ém but also some coilover´s like the FK Automotive.........I would get:

1. H&R coilover´s (-40mm- 70mm)

2. FK coilover´s (-40mm- 80mm)

3. Eibach sport-line springs and pro-damper´s(-50mm)

If you are on a budget you could go for an Apex Racing sports kit! £175

Lowers it 40mm but its a class peice of kit at a very reasonable price!

  2002 Clio Dynamic

I got them from a store called Drivers in Glasgow, but most car places stock Apex stuff, POTN sell it as well!

Dont have many links for places though, soz

ok i think im gonna go for the koni sports suspension package wit 35mm springs on em before they go on me car im gonna get pi springs 50mm or maybe 60mm.

Has anyone else got them set up like this and do u reckon this would be a good combination?

Would the ride be nice and how much better than standard would the handling be?
