Best TV for £700

Looking at changing my Samsung 32" LCD (Non 1080 ) and am not entirely sure what to get.

TBH i would prefer MINT/CRISP picture over screen size but want 37" or 40" ideally.

I'm not too clued up on TV's but a mate mentioned i should get at least an 100hz?

I know it's not quite within budget but the Panasonic G20/G25 ranges are immense, might be worth shopping around:

g20/25 are good but the black rise after 1000 hours makes the blacks pants, rises from like
0.007 ftL to about 0.021 ftL after a few hundred then doubles again at 1000. Same with G/S10.
