Best wax/polish for fresh paint?

Cars had a repaint and i want to give it a spit and polish this weekend.
Whats the best to use? I've only got AG SRP but i'm assuming thats probably not the best??

Cheers! :)

Speak to the chap that sprayed it, he will be able to advise you best.

But i would say you dont want anything too abrasive.

How about this cloth ears ?

Best of asking the bodyshop.

Polishing is fine though whatever - it is waxing and sealants that are the problem and big no no. Selaing the paint prevents it curing. If however it has been baked properly it may on the other hand be fine to do it now. If not 30 -90 days without sealant/wax.

If this is the case dont use SRP as it it maybe a mild polish but it contains the sealants too. Chances are the parts will have been flatted and polished already but using bodyshop sealant free polishes. Most of the Meguiars pro line polishes are designed to be used on fresh paint.

AG SRP is not a good choice for the first few weeks as it contains protective qualities. Definitely no polishing by Mr Kift ? very rare to see a prefect gloss and finish straight out the gun, but I could be wrong on that one.

Polishing itself is not a problem, waxing and sealants are where you can cause issues. I would just wash it and keep it clean for a few weeks and maybe use some Meguiars Show Car Glaze or New Car Glaze on it in the meantime.

When i say no polishing by Kifty, i mean he doesn't maintain his cars in the way i do. He just washes them.

TBH Rich, I only wanted to make it shine a bit more as I'm going to photograph it on saturday. But like you say, i'll probably be better off just washing and shamoosing it for the time being.

With you, chances are it will have been wet flatted and polished after he had painted it. Is he testing at Combe at the weekend?

One of the Glazes I mentioned above will make the paint look ace for pictures.

I think we're getting crossed wires with what i mean about him polishing...... lol!

I'll nip out and get some show car glaze tomorrow then.

As for testing, I guess so. I went in today and he had 8 brand new tyres and all the bodywork was fitted and the car was halfway on his trailer. But no engine! lol
Knowing him, he'll fit it at about 11pm friday night!
