best way of setting up running 2 amps

  LY 182
right im a bit undecided as to how i can do this, my headunit has 2 sets of preouts, a sub out and a front out
at the moment i have a sub connected to the sub output (i like this because i can turn off/controll the sub through the headunit)
i want to put a second amp in to run the front components, now the way i see it there is 2 ways of doing this either

run another set of rca leads to the amp from the front output on the headunit

or

the neater way, connect the amp(for the sub) to the front output,, then use lpf on that amp and then connect my second amp and use hpf (for the components) to the line out of the first amp

that way it does away with a set of rca leads running down the side of the car but would it work as good

(apologies if i have got lfp and hpf the wrong way round aswell lol)

Run the extra leads or you wont get the full range output to your front speakers.

The LPF (low pass filter), would make the front speakers sound flat and you would lose the stereo image, you also wouldn't be able to adjust the bass level without altering the front to rear balance, in short..........dont do it.

Run the extra leads.........best way all round.
