Best way to remove the wiper blades

  Black Sheep
Been out this morning trying to get my wiper blades off cause the jets have stopped working and I need to get to the motor.

Used a blow torch and I managed to melt a bit of my scuttle pannel even though I was using wet cloth and tin foil as protection. There must have been a gap cause it is melted a bit of it:mad:.

Going to have to get a new one on ebay. Still wouldnt budge one bit, had to leave the job for the now to allow the anger to ease a little before I damage something more costly to fix than a scuttle panel..

I tried propping underneath and tapping with hammer ect.

Any ideas?

Just done a bit of searching going to try the mole grips option. Just reading another thread scuttle panel is nothing to the numerous windscreens that have been smashed getting the buggers off, touch wood.

I just used a ball joint separator to get mine off, was about £10 from halfords.

Cheers for the info. The blow torch wet cloth tinfoil combo worked really well. I just neglected the angle I would be directing the heat. FAIL

hammer!? why would you use a hammer next to a window lol?

the thing i was talking about was putting a spanner over the nut and back of the wiper arm then undoing the nut with another spanner pulling the wiper off

This!

I spent ages trying to remove mine with various tools. Went out and bought a ball joint splitter and they came off in seconds.

I totally agree, I struggled for ages with mine, tried every method in the book. Small splitter did it in 5 sec's.
