Betsy the old server won't turn on...

  Toyota MR2 GT Turbo
Don't know if anyone can help here, I have an old server (pentium 4) that we use at work as a development server, it was in storage for a bit, and now won't turn on.

The fans spin, the primary HDD reads for a couple of seconds and the RAID 1 drives spin up but thats it, no BIOS, no nothing!

Anyone have any ideas? I get nothing on the monitor at all, just says no signal...

Reseat everything, could be something as simple as the RAM coming slightly unseated

Does it not sound like it's booting up, could have just ruined the connection on the back of the mobo for the monitor. If nothing is happening depends what monitor it is. some monitors don't detect/display anything until bios, if you aren't hitting bios, possibly a RAM error.

Not if the RAM is out, would just beep, or if it's got no speaker connected, spin the disks then do fcuk all

I've just reseated the RAM, nothing. Also took all the RAM out and the same thing happens...

The primary HDD is 10k rpm, its really loud, so I would know if it is booting up, it makes a noise for about 2 second and thats it.

He knows now. He watched a YouTube video.

LOL, has he ever set one up?

I watched a YouTube video on breastfeeding. Still can't manage it

What else is there to reseat on the main board?

Was it left in a dry place, or somewhere dank?

Try unplugging all the drives, and anything else non essential then try again. Also see if it's got a speaker plugged into the board somewhere, and if not, go find one to plug in - might be helpful if it's giving you beep codes

Just a raid card, and the CPU. Though I would have thought it would have booted without the raid card since the OS is on a seperate HDD.

It was left in my understairs cupboard for about 3 months, so fine conditions, maybe a little dusty.

It does have a speaker, but its not plugged in... I would plug it in but none of the pins are labelled lol!

Hahh....

Sounds like your Power Supply is toast...

Thats what I thought, but I fitted a new one today and nothing happens!

I'll try reseated the cpu, but cba right now lol

Ok so the heatsink wasn't seated properly on the CPU, also the CPU didn't actually fit, so it can't be fixed lol.

New motherboard, processor and ram time!
