BG182 once over

Knowing that yesterday was overcast and warm, I thought it was a good opportunity to give the 182 some cleaning TLC. It hadn't seen the Porta Cable in probably a good 5+ years, so it was in desperate need of it.

There are still some tar deposits on it - the clay bar ended up being disgusting, even after two separate treatments of TarX beforehand. I have to say though, that Immolube is a great product - by far the best fluid I've used in conjunction with a clay bar to date.

Anyways, a couple of pics. I've purposely missed off the front shot as I noticed some extra stone chips - grrrr! Might be due another front-end respray at some point.

That's even more impressive with that mileage on it!
Still my daily driver too

Thanks for the kind words chaps - I do try to look after it. Anything it needs, it gets. I tend to go for earlier than planned maintenance schedules at Birchdown, as well.

If something randomly failed catastrophically with it - then, meh, s**t happens. But I'd be pissed off at myself if I was piling on the mileage, being fully aware that I'm missing the service intervals and then something big failed.

Looks great mate. Black gold is awesome when clean. I loved mine but parted ways the other day after over 11 years with it. Glad to see yours is still going strong mate

That looks stunning, especially for that mileage too! Great work

Love the colour coded door bullets too!

Had it since new mate - early December 2004. 140k+ on the clock now.

That is very cool to have had it that long, from new, knowing everywhere it's been and every piece of work that's been done on it!

That last point you said is making it more difficult for me to part with it. Especially from a financial perspective - it would be struggling to represent a deposit on a new car!

But it's the fact I've been everywhere with it. Down to the south coast, the northern tip of Scotland, blats through the Lake District, trip around the Evo Triangle - the list goes on.

I'm quite the nostalgic person and having memories behind the wheel of that car in particular and still have it to drive today - makes me reluctant to sell.

For the cash value I'd never sell it if I was you. I'd stick it in the garage under a cover, maybe take it to a show or 2, maybe just have a peek at it every now and again. It'd be cool to tell people "I bought that brand new" in another 5 or 10 years time.
Now you're just giving me ideas......

Awesome mate. Looked great the other day, even before the detail!
I'll be doing the same with the 200, most likely. I can't see myself ever selling it.

I totally agree, for what the car is now worth, it's worth soo much more for you to keep for sentimental reasons, than to sell financially. As mentioned above, i'd just keep it and have another daily if the ££ can stretch, the thing of 'i bought that brand new' is something i'd love to have!
