Big suspension problem

  BG 182
Right everyone, I've got a 172 Cup which had V-Maxx coilovers fitted around 6 months ago. They were fitted by a more than competent garage and were set up correctly but when my MOT came around on Wednesday, it failed it miserably. The reason was that the lower strut bolts were loose on both sides. So I took the car back to the place who fitted the coilovers and they tightened the bolts up. They needed about half a turn on each bolt.

Forward to today and the noise it was making before they were tightened up has come back and the wheels have a lot of movement in them.

Can anyone explain to me why the bolts have loosened off again!

Im very close to just getting it through the MOT and getting rid :(

They aren't torqued up but I watched the guy tighten them up and he said that's as much as he could tighten them up

Sorry yeah, before the bolts were tightened, the passenger CV joint was making a fairly loud clicking noise and when on 3/4 or full lock the drivers side would make a horrible metallic straining/cluncking noise if that makes any sense.

Once the bolts had been tightened, the passenger side CV joint was only making a very quiet clicking noise and the noise coming from the drivers side had completely stopped.

Well if they clicking they need replacing before they lock up and you can't steer.

Yeah I'm in the process of buying a new drive shaft but at £250 each, they're not the cheapest thing to buy
