Bigger calipers/disks

  ?
Can I fit any on my mk2ph1 1.6 16v?

Uses the same brakes/calipers as the willies/valvers iirc so does anyone know if you can fit larger disks/calipers?

Ta, x

yeh you can but you will need and extender bracket and larger caliper holder. you can use the big brake coversion kit from k tec(which is actually from a renault 5 gt turbo). it isnt cheap but i can vouch that it does make a difference in braking performance and looks.

Im a total n00b when it comes to this, how much work would be involved? I was hoping that I'd be able to find calipers disks etc from another car and just buy them and fit them cheap(ish)ly.

Where can i get this extender bracket and larger caliper holder? Rough idea of prices/work involved also?

Cheers!

ive heard of people using brembo 4 pots from the fiat coupe but its not a straight fit. i would reccommend you just buy the k tec big brake conversion as that includes everything you need and you also get 285mm drilled disks with that.

From what freds been telling me 406 4 pots + 1*2 disks should be fine :)

Just debating what to do atm, 4 pots or the ktec upgrade kit.

if you fancy a wee bit of a project then go for the brembo's but its a bit overkill IMO but will look very smart indeed however overall price wise i cant see it being much cheaper than the k tec big brake conversion kit. both good optons but your choice at the end of the day
