Bilstein B14 or H&R Coilovers

Car  172 cup trackday
I know they both use Bilstein dampers but what else is different ? spring rates etc, which would you go for ?

Spring rates, valving on the dampers and rear height adjusters are different. H&R's are firmer and can be set lower than Bilstein's. I'd go for the H&R's (run them on my 172), they are around 300 quid more than the Billies though.

I am going for the bilsteins as yes the HRs are firmer but on these roads that maybe not a good thing :S

if you want firm then i think you should spend about 200 quid more for the ASTs and be done with it!

after running AST's on my daily, i wouldn't recommend it, on track yes there brilliant, on the road they soon wear on you

The car will mainly be used on track but I have to drive the car there and do not really want to be worn out before I get there, how bad are ast's for road ?, its not my daily briver.

The best option would be having a passenger ride in cars fitted with the set ups your after, if it's your daily car I'd say Bilstein B14's, H & R's for mainly track day but driven to events and possibly AST's for full on track/competition car. I'll be having a run in a car fitted with AST 1's in the next 4 weeks as I currently run B14's.
