Bilstein B14's or SPAX RSX?

  Honda ATR
hi good people,

looking at spending circa £700 next month on some coilies. Both seem to be in that price range. Any idea what the SPAX are like? or should I just go with the B14's

Just go with the Bilsteins. Cant go wrong with Bilstein, probably last allot longer the the SPAX units too.

Billies, I've had them and rate them massively. Build is good. Iirc eddie on here had some Spax Coiloves on his non RS and said they knocked.

  Disastra Coupe
I've tried neither. But Spax tend to be mediocre average stuff. Bilstein are up there with the best and are world renowned for making good suspension, thus if i had that budget i'd be going for the Billies.

Bilstein shocks are used by h&r, which knock within a few months.

shut the f**k up! Why do Prodrive, Aston, Lambo, Maseratti, Mazda, Subaru, Mitsbishi etc use them? You'll be telling me next Pi springs and V-maxx coilovers are "wicked" - behave Danny

there's members on here that have ran H&R's for 5years now without a rebuild (nurburgring boys) - try that with your v-maxx

well the number that i see which knock, and the number of people that tell me they wish they'd listened to me tells a different story

FK Konigsports, use Koni shocks alround also. Been great on track for me, can give you lots of 'lows' and are fully adjustable which you cant do with the others.

Oh and there the best part of a £100 cheaper!

So with the FK coilover kit you can adjust both ride height and the damper stiffness too? Koni do make a coilover kit but for every model of Clio bar the Sport

  Nothing at the mo :(

1+ REason why my next coilover buy is from bilsteins

Bilstein are one of the only suspension manufacturers I never really get customers having problems with. FK and Spax certainly have more issues.

do the bilsteins have adjustable damping? do I need adjustable damping?! I will be using the car primarily on track.

Who supplies the bilsteins for top dowwah that aren't 'tards?

The bilsteins cannot be adjusted manually. But the good news is they have fancy internals. The valving has a relatively high damping rate for low velocity inputs and a low flow restriction for high velocity inputs. This will give a firm ride with reduced impact from harsh bumps.

Just had my set refurbed as they were tatty. No knocking though, bloody brilliant on the road tbh no need for damping adjustments.

I wrote to Kam Racing and several other shop, but i still don't know how low you can go with Billies B14 on the Clio B?!

Bistein says:
20-25mm.
KamRacing says:
They will go lower, but they didn't tell me how low.

Who can help me? I like to buy the Bilstein but not when they lower the car only 25mm.

  Lionel Richie
they do go lower, 20-25mm is only what's allowed for the TUV German test, they'll go down 40-60mm no problem

Who cares? They go low enough . Slam any car too much and you might aswell stick some gaz on there. 30/40Mm is enough

Thanks for the information!
For me 40mm is enough.
The Billies are the coilovers for me, that's for shure!!

Let ship them to the Netherlands!

For suspension to pass TUV it cannot scrape or scrub tyres on bodywork etc. They only officially advertise a height with an element of leeway to protect themselves.
Every german coilover kit will go lower than the official paperwork. Whether you want to is another matter but some people don't like a good quality ride...

Before i pay 795 Euro exclusive shipping costs, i want to be sure. It's not 7,95 Euro.
Ik think it's not a bad habit to ask things twice to be 100% sure?
The one says this and the other says that.

@bozothenutter...bij Kam Racing is de set te koop voor 703 Engelse ponden. Heb ze nog niet goedkoper gevonden.
Mogelijk met een groepsaankoop?

KamRacing.....what's your price by 2-3-4 Bistein sets? Still 703 pounds?
